Muriel’s has been on my bucket list of places I have wanted to go for a couple of years now, so finally my friend and I spontaneously decided to go after work.
Muriel’s kitchen is a family run business now by Muriel’s granddaughter and husband, serving tradiontional British homemade dishes in the quaintest styles.
Sitting on garden swinging chairs, a beautifully designed afternoon tea arrived on what looked like a miniature British park bench. Hummus and cucumber, chicken and avocado, hamand cheese and egg mayo sandwiches arrived sliced into rectangles, crustless. On the lower decks to the left were a delicious selection of sweet treats, cakes and pastries, all mouth watering. Lastly on the right were the traditional and oh so very British scones with strawberry jam and cream!
To top of all this delicious food we had an array of drinks, cranberry tea, a mixed summer berry smoothie and a refreshing orange and white sangria cocktail!
I ate till my heart was content, giggled an awful lot with my friend and in that moment was proud to be British, enjoying our traditional afternoon tea!
